Day 4 Santo Stefano - Agrigento

Good King Wenceslas look'd out, on the feast of Stephen..

Yes The famous St Stephen one of the first martyr's who was stoned to death by the high priests, also given the nod by Saul of Tarsus, now known as St Paul, wow he turned his life around, there is hope for us all...It is also a public holiday for many people around the world, Boxing Day!

Early breakfast and we are on our way. Paul has a puncture after about 2klm so everyone is ahead of us as we are delayed about 20 mins. Today will be our first night camping so we are looking forward to experience the change, also being back on the coast.

Camping after this will be hard

Santo Stefano (Saint Stephen)
Fantastic warm day and down hill all the way to Santo Stefano . The view of the town on the right is from the hotel, A 10 klm downhill no effort riding, that's how it should be.
Bill & Jill Fire duties today

Pigna d'Oro Country Hotel

A quick photo opportunity beside the pool before we head out. Riding is tuff work, camping, climbing, cold, wind and rain, Don't be fooled by these pictures it's HARD, Wish I was back in Sunny Melbourne!!!
View from Alessandria della Rocca

A real surprise in Sicily was the amount of Gum Tree, ok Eucalypt. Maybe returning Italians brought them back home to remind them of Australia? This is one on the left in full pink flowers. We all rubbed the leaves to smell the Eucalypt

Rural Italy has a wonderful feel about it as local farmers go about their daily chores tilling the land attending to the sheep, the bells attached to their body ring out around the countryside. All say Buongiorno as we pass by.

I know they measure horses height by hands, wow this one must be a thousand hands high, beautiful animal

I will continue the arrival into Agrigento on the next blog as there is so much to say and include, an incredible history and wonderful Archeological sites from the Greeks and Romans. Stayed tuned.

NB Internet challenging and down loads of images slow, camping tomorrow so here's hoping
