Participants and our partners enjoyed a wonderful night together, good food, wine, laughter and bike talk (boring). 
 We  really started to feel the excitement of the La Bella ride that is about to begin.
After many months of enquiries, bookings, payments, currency exchanges, the journey has begun. 
Ross brought the shipping boxes we will use to transport our bikes. As per our last trip to the TDF these have been supplied by Cycleinn one of our sponsor partners, they are located in 1405 Malvern Road, Malvern. call in and see Matt, Caroline or one of the team for your next bike, supplies or expert advice.

Our major sponsor Sanell Cycles has kindly provided all the bikes for the ride. Greatly appreciated Ross.

Thanks to all our wives Mary, Frances, Prue, Michelle and Sarah. The Italian flags, bubbly,beer & wine (all Italian) kindly provided by Prue & Peter hit the spot.

Behind those flags I think the ladies are overjoyed to see the back of us, I am sure we overheard them say that they hoped we would extend the trip.

Mind you we haven't mentioned the three month trip to South America in 2018!!

We Come From A Land Downunder

The five Amici's over many years have been active in various sports both recreational and competitively for many years, in a variety of different fields. As we progress towards our mature years we have been drawn to cycling, primary for enjoyment and the benefits that it brings to our lives.  About ten years ago I worked for a company in the city and met Ross (The Jedi Master) through a mutual interest in riding bikes. 

Even though I had been riding for a long time Ross introduced me to a whole new world of cycling.  Ross is a great mentor and coach, and has owned and ridden most of the best bikes around. Ross even had the pleasure of riding my classic Hillman Sun Tour Racer which I managed to clock up over 50,000 klm. What was that name you gave to my Hillman Ross beginning with S?

Ross also introduced me to mountain bike riding. Ross also enjoys collecting bikes and myself, Peter & Garry are the lucky owners of some of his ex bikes. 

About six years ago Ross was very excited at the prospect of riding in La Bella Italia which also sparked Peter and my interest. We decided in 2013 to participate in the 2014 ride, but sadly the event was not held that year. So we embarked on the TDF instead. Ross was not able to join us so Peter and myself decided to go it alone. What an adventure.......

Three years later and Ross got excited again, I'm in, so am I says Peter, so talking amongst  our riding buddies and Garry says I might be interested in that, then Paul Coghlan said so am I. The five Amici's had a dream...

...Well, I don't know what will happen now; we've got some difficult days ahead.  But it really doesn't matter with us now, because we've been to the mountaintop.....I have seen the promised land...
